NOTICE ON THE PROVISION OF HEALTH SERVICES TO TOURISTS
Health institutions of Varaždin County and Varaždin General Hospital provide services to domestic and foreign tourists staying in Varaždin County based on contractual obligations with the Croatian Health Insurance Institute (HZZO).
In the case of the need for urgent medical care, tourists exercise the right to health care under the same conditions as Croatian insured persons based on the European Health Insurance Card (EKZO) or the Certificate that temporarily replaces the EKZO.
Domestic tourists receive health care on the basis of a valid HZZO card.
For all life-threatening or seriously health-threatening emergencies, call 194 for emergency medical assistance.
(sudden difficulty in breathing, suffocation by a foreign body, cardiac and respiratory arrest, loss of consciousness, sudden chest pain, spasms (convulsions), difficulty speaking, weakness or missing part of the body, facial distortion, injuries caused by traffic accidents and other sudden injuries (fall from a height, gunshot wounds), unusual bleeding, electric shock or lightning, hypothermia, heatstroke, drowning, drug poisoning)
Emergency medical care (emergency medical treatment of all persons whose life, individual organ or parts of the body are in immediate danger due to illness, injury or injury, i.e. those whose life could be endangered in a short time, with the aim of maximally shortening the time from the onset of the emergency to of final medical care) are provided by:

Zdravstvene ustanove varaždinske županije i Opća bolnica Varaždin pružaju usluge domaćim i stranim turistima koji borave na području Varaždinske županije temeljem ugovornih obveza s Hrvatskim zavodom za zdravstveno osiguranje (HZZO).
U slučaju potrebe za neodgodivom medicinskom skrbi, turisti ostvaruju pravo na zdravstvenu zaštitu pod jednakim uvjetima kao hrvatski osiguranici temeljem Europske kartice zdravstvenog osiguranja (EKZO) ili Certifikata koji privremeno zamjenjuje EKZO.
Domaći turisti zdravstvenu zaštitu ostvaruju na temelju važeće iskaznice HZZO-a.
Za sva hitna stanja koja ugrožavaju život ili teško narušavaju zdravlje pozovite hitnu medicinsku pomoć na broj 194.
(naglo nastale poteškoće u disanju, gušenje stranim tijelom, zastoj rada srca i disanja, gubitak svijesti, iznenadna bol u prsima, grčevi (konvulzije), otežan govor, slabost ili oduzetost dijela tijela, iskrivljenost lica, ozljede nastale u prometnim nesrećama i ostale iznenadne ozljede (pad s visine, prostrijeli), neuobičajeno krvarenje, udar električne energije ili groma, pothlađivanje, toplinski udar, utapanje, otrovanje lijekovima)
Hitnu medicinsku pomoć (hitno medicinsko zbrinjavanje svih osoba kojima je zbog bolesti, stradanja ili ozljede neposredno ugrožen život, pojedini organ ili dijelovi tijela, odnosno kod kojih bi u kratkom vremenu moglo doći do životne ugroženosti, a s ciljem maksimalnog skraćenja vremena od nastanka hitnog stanja do konačnog medicinskog zbrinjavanja) pružaju:

U slučaju akutnih bolesti i stanja koja ne ugrožavaju život
(stanja za koja biste inače išli svom liječniku, kao što su upale dišnih putova, viroze, povišena temperatura, manje opekotine, manje nezgode, bolovi u trbuhu, bolovi u leđima … )

Izvan radnog vremena ambulanti obiteljskog liječnika, zdravstvena skrb će biti pružena u okviru ambulante posebnog dežurstva (izvanredne zdravstvene poteškoće, a koje nisu životno ugrožavajuće)
